How to choose the right exercise for you

Choosing the type of exercise you engage in is an important decision, and there are many things to consider from the level of health benefits to how much time you have to dedicate. For example, what we do not mention is whether or not buying equipment will be a priority for you.

If you don’t like something, then you’re not going to do it for a long time. Think about it, if you don’t enjoy jogging then there’s no way that at 6 AM in the morning, right before work when you should be sleeping, that you’d get up and go running. If you can’t find anything to do, go for a walk. It’s great exercise and has benefits for anyone, regardless of level of fitness. You can start anytime you like too since it’s totally up to you how intense the walking is. Walking also provides a great opportunity to chat with a friend or just enjoy the company of your partner. This will make the exercise go by that much more quickly.

No matter what exercise you choose, you should start at a low level of intensity and work your way up a few weeks. If you start off too hard, your exercise program could’ve ended before you know it.

The first step is to start with 10 minutes of light-moderate walking. Increase the time by 5 minutes each week or two. The best way to mix things up is to walk different routes in different environments every few days. You can also find a different friend to walk with you each day of the week. Walking is a great way to stay healthy, both mentally and physically, if it’s not for you then you could try joining a fitness centre. They’re usually very affordable and have lots of variety, as well as trainers on hand if you get stuck. When you’re choosing a fitness center, make sure they give good service before you join and that they have high-quality equipment. Ask them about their customer service as well to make sure they’ll take care of you once you join. You’ll also need to know if the equipment has been properly maintained so there are no sharp edges or rusting parts. The easiest way to figure out if your machines are well maintained is by carefully listening. If they make noise, or emit a squealing sound, then chances are in need of some attention. Both are great social activities, and they can even introduce you to new friends. Tennis is a great workout. If you’ve been exercising for a long time, golf may be more suitable for your needs.
