When you finish a workout, you should have the feeling of being fresh & energetic. It’s important to take a day off every week to relax and give your body time to repair itself.

The key to this is to have the right attitude. You need to exercise for your own sake, not for other people. If you’re only doing it for others, then it won’t matter when you step on the scales and see a bad number.

If you take things slow and pace yourself, your body will respond in a positive way. It’s always important to give your body enough time between workouts; guys usually recommend one day of rest after a hard workout, and two to three days of recovery afterwards. Give it some time before trying something new or more intense. Start off slow and gradually make your way up.
